IDAHO FALLS – Have you ever wondered whether that dusty attic find, cherished family heirloom, or long-forgotten collectible might be worth more than you think?
On Saturday, August 1, the Museum of Idaho is giving the public a rare opportunity to find out during its Celebrity Appraisal Antique Showcase, a one-day event featuring nationally recognized appraisers Timothy Gordon and Grant Zahajko.
Known to millions of viewers through their television and other appearances, Gordon and Zahajko will offer five-minute verbal appraisals of a wide variety of objects, including fine art, antiques, sports memorabilia, comic books, vintage toys, family heirlooms, Western artifacts, and other intriguing collectibles.
“This is a unique opportunity to have renowned experts evaluate your treasured objects—without leaving eastern Idaho,” said Camille Farac, Director of Marketing for the Museum of Idaho. “Whether you’d like an appraisal or just want to come watch as a spectator, the event will be educational, entertaining, and full of surprises.”
Timed appraisal appointments are available every five minutes from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Each ticket includes one verbal appraisal of a single object, and participants may bring up to five items by purchasing additional back-to-back appointment times, while availability lasts. Museum admission is not included.
Even those without an item to appraise are invited to attend. Spectators may watch the appraisals throughout the day by purchasing general museum admission at the front desk, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the fascinating process of identifying, dating, and valuing historical objects and collectibles. Spectator seating is first-come, first-served.
