Man charged with aggravated DUI following crash in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls man has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence following a traffic incident Saturday night.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of 19th Street and Yellowstone Highway around 10 p.m. after a report of two trucks colliding.
According to the police report, the officer noted obvious damage to the front of one of the vehicles and that truck parts were scattered around the intersection.
The 24-year-old driver, Weston Marker, was standing outside of his car and admitted to drinking behind the wheel, according to police reports. The officer made a note that Marker smelled like alcohol and his speech was slurred.
After the officer conducted a breathalyzer test, Marker’s results came back as having a blood alcohol concentration of .08.
Two people in the truck with Marker were injured in the crash. One had a large bruise on his forehead and a compression fracture in their back. The other passenger was actively bleeding with an open wound at the top of their head.
Marker was taken to the hospital for medical jail clearance before being sent to the Bonneville County jail.
Though Marker has been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
