Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash in Bear Lake County

ST. CHARLES — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old.
The crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, on Minnetonka Cave Road, west of St. Charles in Bear Lake County.
Troopers say a white 2026 Kawasaki KLX110 motorcycle, ridden by a 22-year-old male from North Ogden, Utah, was traveling eastbound on Minnetonka Cave Road. A tan 2005 Jeep Liberty, driven by a 66-year-old female from Montpelier, was traveling westbound on Minnetonka Cave Road. The Kawasaki collided head-on with the Jeep, according to an ISP news release.
The rider of the Kawasaki was not wearing his helmet and died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not wearing her seatbelt, but was not transported. Her injuries are unknown.
The road was blocked for approximately four hours.
This is the second fatality crash in Bear Lake County in the last 24 hours. An elderly man was killed on an ATV on North Road just west of Johnson Road in Ovid on Thursday morning.
