Police identify man who fell into Snake River on Sunday

IDAHO FALLS — Authorities have identified the man who fell into the Snake River on Sunday afternoon as search efforts continue.
In a news release, Idaho Falls Police identified the man as Teng Go, 88, of Arizona.
First responders were notified that Go fell into the Snake River around 2:30 p.m. near the Broadway Bridge. Witnesses said that Go was on the rocks near the river when he slipped and fell into the water below.
IFPD, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to where Go was last seen to begin rescue efforts.

The county’s Dive and Rescue team deployed and began searching the water by boat and jet ski.
BCSO Spokesman Sgt. Bryan Lovell said the search Sunday included divers, who began searching the area where Go fell in.
He said the location where the man fell was near where a 54-year-old Louisiana man, John Green, fell into the Snake River in June. Green was visiting Idaho Falls with a co-worker and fell into the river while looking at the falls near the rocks.

Green has yet to be located, but Lovell hopes that both men can be found soon.
Despite the time between the two incidents, Lovell said that water conditions are about the same, meaning search and rescue personnel are experiencing difficult conditions.
“They’re trying to work around that best they can without compromising the safety of a diver,” Lovell said.
Along with divers, search teams are also using sonar and drones to help locate Go.
“They’re doing everything they can,” Lovell said.
The release from Idaho Falls Police also states that the Chaplains of Idaho also responded Sunday to assist Go’s family.
