Fish and Game seek details about brutal bull elk poaching in Bingham County

BLACKFOOT — Idaho Fish and Game are investigating the illegal killing of a bull elk that occurred earlier this month, where the animal was shot several times, and its antlers were taken.
According to a news release, a community member found a dead bull elk on Sellars Creek Road — between Blackfoot Reservoir Road and Long Valley Road — in Bingham County. Officials estimate it was shot on the night of either Sept. 4 or Sept. 5 by a centerfire rifle.

The release said it is archery-only season at the moment, and using a rifle is a violation and a waste of game.
