According to the Idaho State Police, the crash happened around 5:40 p.m. near milepost 60. Investigators say Anderson was driving a 2011 Ford F-350 southbound when he rear-ended a 2017 Peterbilt semitruck pulling a trailer.
Both vehicles came to rest in the right southbound lane.
Anderson was not wearing a seat belt and died from his injuries. The semitruck driver, a 67-year-old man from Park City, Utah, was also traveling southbound.
The right southbound lane was closed for about four hours as crews responded to the crash.
