It’s Day 3 of North Carolina’s prosecution of Miguel Salguero-Olivares, and tonight on “Courtroom Insider,” disturbing evidence, emotional testimony and questions about how investigators handled key evidence take center stage.

Jurors saw graphic crime scene images from the room where Faith Hedgepeth was killed, heard about a bloody bottle beleved to be the murder weapon, and learned new details about the injuries that took the life of the 19-year-old UNC-Chapel Hill student.

The defense also seized on mistakes made during the investigation, including a missing DNA swab and a cellphone that could not be tested because of how it was handled. Some jurors were visibly emotional during the medical examiner’s testimony.

Grace Wong joins Nate Eaton with insights from inside the courtroom, and we break down all the major moments.
