Obituary
Garrett Reece
February 13th, 2004 - October 7th, 2026
Garrett Alan Reece, 22, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 7, 2026.
Garrett Alan Reece was born on February 13, 2004, in Afton, Wyoming, to Russell Reece and Melissa Smith Reece. He grew up in Cokeville, Wyoming, where he attended school and graduated from Cokeville High School.
On December 6, 2025, Garrett married the love of his life, Brianna E. Steiner, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Garrett and Brianna made their home first in Pocatello, and then in Idaho Falls, where they shared their lives as husband and wife. Garrett loved going fishing and golfing with Brianna, but some of their most special moments were the simple ones spent at home, watching movies or making dinner together. It wasn’t always about doing something big or going somewhere special, but about spending time together and enjoying the little moments that made their relationship theirs. The memories they shared and the love they had for one another will forever hold a special place in Brianna’s heart. Garrett worked as a motorhand for Ensign United States Drilling.
Garrett was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed playing golf, fly fishing, hunting, and riding in his Can-Am. He took great pride in his truck and loved spending time with his friends and family. The memories he made with the people he loved and the things that brought him happiness will always be cherished by those who knew him.
Garrett is survived by his parents, Russell and Melissa Reece; his wife, Brianna Reece of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his brothers, Gage Reece and Trip Reece, both of Cokeville, Wyoming; his brothers-in-law, Tyson Steiner, Cade Steiner, and Ridge Steiner, all of Rexburg, Idaho; his sisters-in-law, Bailee (Brennan) Young and Ashley Steiner, both of Rexburg, Idaho; his grandparents, Alan and Sandi Smith of Wyoming, and Jean and Darin Holste of Iowa; and his father and mother-in-law, Todd and Erin Steiner of Rexburg, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gregory Steven Reece, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins who welcomed him with open arms.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Stonebridge Ward, 475 East 7th North, Rexburg, Idaho, with Bishop David Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
