Obituary
Von Beck
October 22nd, 1936 - October 11th, 2026
Von Reno Beck passed away at the age of 89 at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, surrounded by his greatest treasures; his family.
In his own words; Von felt he was the most lucky and blessed man to ever live. He was born October 22, 1936, in Archer, Idaho, to goodly parents, Clarence Lee Beck and Elsie Pauline Miller Beck. He was the youngest of four brothers and two sisters that he always loved dearly and never doubted their same love for him.
He held many titles throughout his life in church (full-time missionary in the East Central States Mission, as a couple missionary in Salt Lake City Temple Square and Oahu, Hawaii), eternal friendships, education (BYU Provo graduate), business, etc, however he voiced by far; his greatest title was husband and father, and greatest blessing was his eternal companion and sweetheart, Kaylyn Hillam (married February 14, 1963, in the Salt Lake City Temple), one near-perfect son and four beautiful daughters. They were not only children, but his best friends, also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His greatest joy was his faith that through the gospel’s plan of happiness (he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) he will be with his family and loves ones eternally.
Von expressed that his wish would be that we not feel sad or mourn over much at the short separation our lives will experience; rather let us be grateful for the joy of our lives spent together and reflect on what a marvel and wonder of a life lived so completely.
Von is survived by his loving wife; his five children and their spouses, Charla, Allen (Terri), Rhonda (David), Laura (Josh), and Michelle (Kendall); his 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and his sister, Clea Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Merlin, Reva, Ralph, Wayne, and Earl.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Greenway Ward, 1291 West 65th South. The family will visit with friends Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.
