IDAHO FALLS — A couple was taken to the hospital Sunday morning after their pickup truck rolled onto its cab on U.S. Highway 20 just west of Idaho Falls.
Idaho State Police said the crash happened around 10:10 a.m. at milepost 295 as a 65-year-old man from Rapid City, South Dakota, was driving a 2020 GMC Sierra eastbound while pulling a single-axle trailer. His 75-year-old female passenger was also from Rapid City.
The trailer began swerving and veered into the westbound lanes, according to police. The driver tried to regain control and steer back into the eastbound lanes, but the GMC rolled into an embankment and landed on its cab.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts and taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The highway was blocked in both directions for about 30 minutes while emergency crews responded.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Fire Department and Idaho Falls Paramedics assisted at the scene.
