ROBERTS — One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening following a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 just south of Roberts.

According to Idaho State Police, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. near milepost 130 in Jefferson County.

A 34-year-old Payette man was driving a 2001 Kenworth semi-truck northbound when he struck the rear of a trailer being towed by a 1994 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 22-year-old Hamer man.

The impact caused the trailer to disconnect from the pickup and roll. A 53-year-old Roberts woman driving a 2016 Nissan northbound then struck the trailer.

One person was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. Police did not release information about the extent of the person’s injuries.

All lanes of I-15 were blocked for about five hours following the crash.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Roberts Fire, Jefferson County Fire and EMS, and the Idaho Transportation Department assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
