UPDATE: Ball Ventures building sustains more than $250K in damages in fire
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Firefighters responded to a fire at the Ball Ventures building on Snake River Parkway on Saturday morning.
Around 9:20 a.m., firefighters received the call. When they arrived, they found the fire was showing through the roof. It was under control 12 minutes after they arrived, according to a news release from the Idaho Falls Fire Department.
Reporter Nate Eaton was live from the scene. See the video at the top of the story.
Most of the fire damage was on the building’s third floor and roof, and there was water damage throughout the structure. The cost of property damages is still being assessed, but it’s estimated to be more than $250,000. Business operations were also disrupted.
One person was inside the building when the fire started and safely got out, IFFD says. No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Crews are still at the building, “conducting overhaul operations and ensuring the fire is fully extinguished.”
IFFD responded with three engines, three ambulances, one ladder truck, two chief officers and one fire investigator. The Idaho Falls Police Department, Intermountain Gas and Idaho Falls Power also assisted at the scene, firefighters said.
