Man who lost leg in a motorcycle crash breaks down opening gift from a Secret Santa
Published at | Updated atROBERTS — A local Secret Santa is spreading holiday cheer across eastern Idaho, giving away $1 million to people who deserve a little extra magic this Christmas.
Darrel and his lovely wife Rose live in Roberts where they settled down and raised four children. He is a very hard worker and nothing has ever been handed to him.
Darrel worked at Glenwood as a meat cutter for years and he enjoyed it. His wife helped out with office work.
This year Darrel and Rose celebrated 50 years of marriage and their love for each other.
Around 23 years ago, Darrel was in a motorcycle crash and lost his leg from the knee down. Most people at that time may have given up, but Darrel got out and did everything he had done when he still had his leg.
Darrel desperately needs a new prosthetic but can not afford it & Medicare does not pay enough for him to be able to purchase a new one.
Secret Santa learned about Darrel and asked the East Idaho News elves to pay him a visit. Watch the surprise in the video player above!
