Bill Murray Remembers Harold Ramis Onstage at Oscars
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Bill Murray presented the Oscar for Best Cinematography on Sunday night, and after reading off the names of the nominees, he squeezed in a shout out to his close friend and constant collaborator Harold Ramis, who died of an autoimmune inflammatory disease last week at the age of 69.
“We forgot one,” Murray said. “Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.”
The crowd took notice and applauded Murray’s kind words.
This adds to the statement Murray sent to Time magazine on Feb. 25, a day after Ramis died. “Harold Ramis and I together did the National Lampoon Show off Broadway, Meatballs, Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day,” he said. “He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him.”
