Obituary
Brian Dewayne Woolf
June 23rd, 1966 - May 13th, 2026
Brian Dewayne Woolf was born on June 23, 1966, and passed away on May 13, 2026.
Brian was the son of Dewayne Woolf and Ruth Baker and one of eleven children. Growing up in a large family helped shape the strength, resilience, and determination he carried throughout his life.
Brian had a strong personality—steady, direct, and unapologetically himself. He lived life his way and stayed true to who he was until the very end. If you knew Brian, you knew where he stood. People who truly knew Brian knew he had a sensitive heart. You had to know the depth of who he was to fully understand him, but once you did, you saw the loyalty, love, and strength that defined him. He showed his love through both his words and his actions and had a way of being there when it mattered most.
Brian was a devoted father and family man. His oldest son, Dalton Woolf, was always an important part of his life and remained in his heart through the years. Brian never let go of the hope of rebuilding that connection.
Later, when Brian and Jenny Johnson found each other, they built a life and a home together that became one of the greatest constants in Brian’s life. Jenny was truly the love of his life. In over 26 years they shared together, Brian never spent a single night away from the home they built together.
When Brian became part of Jenny’s life, he also opened his heart to her son, Brock Johnson, loving and raising him as his own son. Later, they welcomed their son, Bryson Woolf, who became one of the greatest joys of Brian’s life. Family meant everything to Brian, and he gave his love, loyalty, guidance, and protection freely to the children he called his own.
Brian valued the simple things in life and the people he loved most. He did things his own way, and those who knew him would not have wanted him any other way.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth E. Baker; his father, Dewayne Arnold Woolf; his brother, Michael Woolf; and his sisters, Carrie Woolf, Lori Arave, and Sarah Grover.
He is survived by his brothers: Doug (Ava) Woolf, Darren (Denna) Woolf, John Woolf, and Jimmy Woolf; his sisters: Cindy (Nick)Woolf and Mary (Dave) Knutz; His partner, Jenny Johnson; his sons: Dalton Woolf, Brock Johnson, and Bryson Woolf; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
What comforts us today is knowing Brian loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. That love remains in the memories we carry, the lessons he taught, and the lives he helped shape.
Today we say goodbye, but we also say thank you.
Thank you, Brian, for your strength, your honesty, your loyalty, and the family you helped build. You lived life your way, and your presence will be deeply missed, but your impact and memory will remain with us always.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Brian from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2025, at 1596 N. 750 E. Shelley, Idaho. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
