Caryn Meyer

April 21st, 1970 - May 22nd, 2023

Caryn Rae Meyer, 53, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 22, 2023.

Caryn was born April 21, 1970, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, she was the oldest of 5 children born to David Rae Rhoades and Brenda K Strom Rhoades.

She grew up in Idaho Falls, attended elementary and middle school and graduated from Bonneville High School class of 1988. In March of 1987, Caryn welcomed her first son, Michael. Shortly thereafter, in 1991, she married Vincent Paul Meyer and from that union they had three more sons, Matthew, Marc, and Mason. They spent time living in California and Washington, and eventually returned to Idaho to raise their 4 boys. They were later divorced in 2009.

Caryn enjoyed so many things in life and playing darts was high on her list. It was playing darts where she met and married Kelley Leon Villeneuve in 2012. They were later divorced in 2016.

Caryn was a strong individual and handled every challenge life threw at her head on. One of the biggest hurdles she faced was in 2019 when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She fought hard and in 2020 she received her new diagnosis that she was cancer free. This gave her a new perspective on life, and she lived it to the fullest.

Caryn, affectionately known to those closest to her as Beer, enjoyed so many aspects of life: reading, the great outdoors, her beloved dogs Ollie, Autumn, and Echo, spending time with family & friends, especially her grandchildren. There wasn’t an adventure that she would say no to. Her most recent adventure was spending two weeks in Italy with her boyfriend, Reed Southwick. Caryn’s smile and laughter were constantly present and very contagious. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, & grandmother and will be deeply missed but forever in our memories and hearts.

Caryn is survived by her children Michael Rhoades of Idaho Falls, ID., Matthew (Cierra) Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID., Marc (Ashlee) Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID., Mason (Savannah Dehart) Meyer of Clearwater FL., parents David and Brenda Rhoades of Salmon, ID., siblings Curtis (Jennifer) Rhoades of West Jordan, UT., Kevin (Becky) Rhoades of Idaho Falls, ID., Katie (James) Adkerson of Russelville, AR., Candice (Shawn) McDaniel of Idaho Falls, ID., Grandchildren Ayden, Kaymbree, Austyn, Madilynn, Theodore, Rose, and May, five nieces and seven nephews.
