Doranna Marie Brower departed this earth life on June 4, 2026, at the young age of 53. She was reunited with her mom in Heaven for their next journey together. Her dad, Gene, brother Shayn, and brother Bill were by her side as she passed with Bill holding one hand and her mom in heaven holding the other.

Doranna came into this world on September 10, 1972, in Rexburg, Idaho. She was the beautiful baby girl of her father, Gene Wills Brower, and her mother Martha Gaylene Smith Brower. She was welcomed into the family by two brothers and one sister.

Doranna was raised in St. Anthony, Idaho, and that is where home was for her as she stayed there for the remainder of her life. Doranna started out life like most other kids, running, jumping, playing, dancing, singing, and doing all the things kids liked to do back then. She loved spending time with her grandma’s and grandpa’s and having sleep overs. She also like to visit her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as much as she could. While out of school enjoying her summer vacation, things changed suddenly for her in early August one year. She had a very serious, life-altering accident when she was struck by a fast-moving vehicle while riding bikes with her brother. She spent several weeks in the ICU at the old Idaho Falls Hospital in a coma with her mom by her side every single day until she was well enough to be transported to Seattle Primary Children’s Hospital. She remained there until just before Christmas when she was allowed to come back home to St. Anthony. Her struggles weren’t over, but she had overcome tremendous uphill battles and reached miraculous milestones. She went on to get her driver’s license, graduate high school, and eventually move out on her own.

Doranna made many friends throughout her life. She had two special childhood best friends, Lisa Heath and Neeley Davis and they remained lifelong friendships for her. Many years ago she met Billy King, and they too became friends and remained so up to her passing. Throughout her life, she was just like her mom and was always thinking of others long before she thought about herself. Her mom taught her well. She had a great sense of humor and loved playing jokes. She rarely complained about herself because she was strong enough to overcome most of life’s struggles and found a way to embrace them. She had a love for all animals, but especially her dogs. She also had a couple of lizards for a while, and she loved her tarantula. She loved holidays and for many years she would have the outside of her house all decked out for Halloween and Christmas. She did an amazing job decorating. She learned that from her mom. Her and her mom were the real definition of the saying, ‘like two peas in a pod!’ Several Christmases ago, some grinch did their best to ruin her Christmas when they stole some of her new decorations, and although she was very mad, she kept her Christmas spirit the best she could. She spent a lot of time with her mom throughout her life. They had a very close relationship and went to lunch and movies regularly in Idaho Falls. Her mom worked at and later owned the Star Bar for many years, and Doranna spent a lot of time with her at the bar up through most of her adult life, hanging out and helping out wherever and however she could. Her mom came down with some serious health issues just a couple years after retirement and needed some help with her daily life. Doranna put her own personal life on pause and moved in with her mom so she could help take care of her and her needs. She was a very selfless individual. Her mom eventually succumbed to her battles, and this was a very hard time for Doranna. Her life was centered around her mom, and afterward, she made regular trips to visit her mom’s final resting place. She took possession of her mom’s two little dogs, Jance and Callie, and she spoiled them just like her mom did. They were spoiled enough that they got to sleep with her on her bed every night. She didn’t need more heart ache, but 2026 just didn’t start off good for her. Between January and May, she first lost her own dog Macho, then Jance, then Callie. She was heartbroken, especially because those little dogs were the closest thing she had left of her mothers. A little over a year ago, she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She battled fearlessly with surgery, months of chemotherapy, and several weeks of radiation. Unfortunately, it had metastasized, and along with some other complications due to this, she lost the battle after nearly a three week stay in the hospital. For reasons we do not understand, she was called back to Heaven, but it gives us comfort to know that her mom was the first one in line for the reunion, and what a glorious reunion it must have been. Special thanks to the staff at EIRMC and Aspen Home and Health Hospice for their professional care and compassion given to Doranna and her family. Doranna will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Sis. Love you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony. The family will receive friends that morning from 10:00 until 10: 45 a.m. at the funeral home.
