Jay Golden Marley passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, just four days before his 79th birthday. He leaves behind a life defined by service, hard work, determination, family, and a deep passion for living life to the fullest.

Jay was born on October 9, 1947 to Golden Hawkins and Erma Maxine. He was the second child born out of seven. In 1967, he served a mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an experience that became an important part of his life. He later served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1974 as a Military Police officer, including service in Vietnam and Thailand. He was proud of his military service and the opportunity he had to serve others.

In 1972, Jay welcomed his first child, Amy Maree, into the world. In 1974, he married Lamiad Pet-iam, and together they had two children, John Alan (Jessica) and Maxine Lamiad (Kevin). Although their marriage later ended in divorce, Jay continued to build his life around his children and family.

In 1982, Jay married Cynthia Lyn, and added 2 more children to the family,  James Heber (Carolyn) and Stephanie Jo (Corbett). His family was one of the greatest sources of joy in his life. He was a loving and doting grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren. His family will forever remember the love, laughter, lessons, and memories he gave them.

Jay was a farmer at heart and a hardworking man in every sense of the word. For many years, Jay maintained the farm while also working full-time as a security guard, a career he dedicated thirty five years to. After retiring from security, he sold the farm and began another chapter of his working life as a bailiff, a position he held for eight years.

Jay was many things to many people, but to his family he was Dad, Grandpa, and a constant example of strength and determination. He was loving, funny, kind, strong-willed, and determined.
Jay will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lessons he left behind.

Rest in peace, You gave life everything you had, and you will never be forgotten.

A grave side service will be held in his honor Saturday October 17th at 11 am at the Ucon cemetery.
