Jean (Ryder) Aicher, 74, of Idaho Falls, ID, died peacefully Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was born January 21, 1952, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Lloyd H. Ryder and Jeanette (Cleveland) Ryder. Jean grew up in the New Sweden area and graduated from Skyline High School.

Jean married Arthur James (Jim) Aicher on June 28, 1974, in Idaho Falls, ID. The couple had just surpassed 52 years of marriage before her passing. Jean was fascinated by genealogy and began working on her family line when she was just 13. To be able to become more efficient with her family research, she purchased a personal computer in the mid-1980s. Jean quickly became very adept at computers and would go on to become a bookkeeper and manager at a local carpet store.

Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved that she could be together with her family forever. She and Jim were sealed to their children, Jill and Benjamin, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Jean worked on genealogy extraction for the Church for decades, sharing her knowledge and love of familial research. Jean was a talented artist and painted many beautiful oil paintings over the years. Jean loved the mountains and the rivers and spent summers camping and four wheeling with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jim Aicher, of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jill Aicher-Bedwell (Mike Bedwell) of Boise, ID; granddaughter, Clare Aldrich, of Boise, ID; and grandson, Jeremiah Aldrich, of Boise, ID. She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Aicher, of Idaho Falls, ID; her parents; and her siblings.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 28, at 9:30 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, ID. A grave-side service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
