John Weston Allred

February 1st, 1970 - February 29th, 2024

John Weston Allred returned to his heavenly home February 29, 2024 at the age of 54 following his battle with ALS.

John is the beloved husband of Nanette Clark Allred; cherished son of Gerald L. Allred and June Hardy; loving father of Hannah E. Hauer, Caleb M. Allred, and Grace I. Allred; adored grandfather of William L. Allred and Eleanor O. Allred; dear father-in-law of Catherine N. Allred and Abigail R. Hauer; and cherished brother of Benjamin G. Allred, Emily J. Ashby, Zachary A. Allred, Erin R. Dangerfield, and Matthew H. Allred. He was preceded in death by his firstborn child, Natalie J. Allred.

John was born in Salt Lake City on February 1, 1970. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Nanette Clark, February 21, 1992 in the Salt Lake City, UT temple. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science from Weber State in 1994 and with a Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1998. He completed his residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI in 2002. John worked as a devoted OB-GYN for Madison Women’s Clinic in Rexburg, Idaho, for over 21 years and delivered his two grandchildren, a career highlight.

John was a lifelong soccer fan, playing at Woods Cross High School, Brigham Young University, and Weber State, followed by many years of coaching. He was a world traveler, a gospel scholar, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a spiritual leader and man of profound faith, serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Connecticut and holding many callings including high councilman, bishop, and stake presidency counselor.

John leaves a legacy encompassed by his dedication to living the two great commandments, loving God and loving his neighbor. He will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A viewing for John will be on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Rexburg East Stake Center, 387 South Fourth East, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Rexburg East Stake Center with a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.

A gathering for friends and family will be in Utah on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Eagle Ridge Ward Building, 351 Lofty Lane, North Salt Lake, Utah 84054. John will be laid to rest with his baby girl Natalie at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary & Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah 84010.
