Joyce Pearl Moore

April 17th, 1940 - November 16th, 2023

Joyce Pearl Fowler Moore, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 16, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born April 17, 1940, in Conrad, Montana, to Clifford Patterson Fowler and Pearl Galbraith Otteson Fowler. She grew up and attended schools in Conrad, Montana, and graduated from Conrad High School in 1958. After graduation from high school, she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and later transferred to Ricks College in Rexburg, ID, to pursue a degree in Nursing.

While in nurses training at Ricks College, Joyce met Stanley Ray Moore on a blind date. They were married in the Old Shelton Chapel on November 24, 1962. They were later divorced. Joyce passed her State Nursing Boards and took a job in the Labor and Delivery department at the hospital in Idaho Falls. In March of 1964, their first child Kyle was born. They moved to Logan in 1964, so that Stan could pursue a degree in Civil Engineering at Utah State University. Joyce got a job at the Logan LDS Hospital and worked swing shift to support the family while Stan pursued his Engineering degree.

Joyce gave birth to their second son Ryan in 1967. After Stan graduated from USU in 1969, he took a job in East Wenatchee, WA, where he worked as a Civil Engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse at Wenatchee Valley Hospital in the Labor and Delivery department. Their first daughter Amy was born in Wenatchee in 1970. In the summer of 1975, the family moved across the Columbia River to Wenatchee, WA where they bought ten acres of land, which included a fruit orchard, located up Squilchuck Road. They welcomed their second daughter and last child Mindi into their home in September of 1975. They lived on the orchard land and raised their family until all four children had graduated from Wenatchee High School. Joyce worked at Wenatchee Valley Hospital for 30 years, eventually serving as head nurse.

Joyce is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many leadership positions over the years. She reminisced that she always felt happiest when she was serving and involved. She had the gift of nursing and was a friend to many. She moved to Ammon, Idaho in 2006. She served in the Idaho Falls Temple from 2006 to 2013. She later moved to Idaho Falls to live with her daughter Mindi and her family, where she lived until she passed. Those who know Joyce will remember her as faithful, loving, energetic and caring.

Joyce is survived by her brother, Ron Fowler of Rock Springs, WY; her four children and their spouses: son, Kyle (Stephenie) Moore of St. Anthony, ID; son, Ryan (Mei Li) Moore of Springville, UT; daughter, Amy (Troy) Barker of Syracuse, UT; daughter, Mindi (Chris) George, of Idaho Falls, ID; 29 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
