Obituary Nancy Nadine Olsen
December 20th, 1951 - May 17th, 2023
Nancy Olsen, a beloved resident of Ririe, Idaho, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old.
Nancy was born on December 20, 1951, in Eureka, California, to Peggy McBroom (Sid Driggers) and Paul Lockler. On December 4, 1971, Nancy married the love of her life, Wes Olsen, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.
Throughout her life, she had a deep passion for nursing, which led her to pursue her ultimate goal of a Master’s in Nursing, FNP from Idaho State University in 2001. Nancy dedicated many years of her career to Freeman Plastic Surgery until February 2023.
Nancy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She found great joy and fulfillment in serving as a temple ordinance worker until the spring of 2023. Nancy’s vibrant spirit extended beyond her professional and religious life. She enjoyed various hobbies such as shopping, traveling, walking with friends, and spending quality time with her family, who meant the world to her.
Nancy will forever be remembered and deeply missed by her devoted husband, Wes Olsen, of Ririe. She is survived by her loving children: son Wade (Robyn) Olsen of Houston, Texas, daughter April Olsen of Rexburg, and daughter Shawna (Jordan) Zajanc of North Ogden, Utah. Nancy’s legacy also lives on through her ten cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Nancy’s remarkable life will be held at the Ririe Stake Center, 14061 N 130 E, Ririe, on Monday, May 22nd, at 11 am, with Bishop Thacker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21st at the church, from 5 to 6:30, as well as prior to the funeral services from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church. Interment will follow at Sutton Cemetery, under the compassionate direction of Eckersell Funeral Home, located at 841 Sutton Cemetery.
