Richard Alvin Trulson

March 30th, 1952 - November 13th, 2023

Richard Alvin “Rick” Trulson, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Rick was born March 30, 1952, in Stanley, North Dakota, to Alvin Merton Trulson and Margaret Adaline Vedvig Trulson. He grew up and attended schools in Stanley and Palermo, North Dakota.

Rick made his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he was a gifted, lifelong musician. One of his most memorable jobs was becoming a band leader for his friend, Tommy Overstreet. Rick enjoyed making music and made many friends through his music. He loved recording and helping people with his great ear.

He was a generous and easy-going man with a strong faith in Christ. He had a heart of gold. Rick had a quick wit about him, and always had a way of making you smile or crack up over his jokes. He always had a good story or bad joke to share with anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed aviation and horses.

Rick is survived by his son, Ian (Kristi) Trulson of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Amy Barlow of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Andy Going of Pocatello, ID; son, Brandon (Bobbi) Bykonen of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Jan Taylor of Stanley, ND, Kathy (Gary) Mork of Stanley, ND, Nancy (Jim) Konen of Plaza, ND, and Mona (Don) Bingen of Palermo, ND; and 21 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judy Haynes and Karen Airman; and brother, Randy Trulson.

He was a loving son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend who will be missed dearly. He is reunited with family, friends, and many great musicians in Heaven tonight. We bet that is one incredible jam session. We love you, Dad!

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at The Brickyard Event Center, 1025 Ammon Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Food Bank at https://idahofoodbank.org/donate/.
