Ruthann B. Stetz
November 5th, 1953 - February 15th, 2018
Ruthann B. Stetz, age 64, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ruthann was born on November 5, 1953, in rural Terreton, Idaho, at 7 miles east, 1 ½ mile north, to Earnest Ray and Verla Marie Byrne. She was raised and attended schools in both Hamer and Terreton. After graduating from high school, Ruthann spent several years helping run the family farm until moving to Idaho Falls to work as a dental assistant. Shortly after her move, she met her future spouse, Rich Stetz. They were married on September 8, 1979.
Ruthann enjoyed spending her time by being active in the Episcopal Church, volunteering as a chaplain at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, going on motorcycle rides, cooking, baking, canning, crocheting, researching family history, and spending time with Rich and their six children.
She is survived by her spouse, Rich, her daughters, Shannon (Jacob) Schritter, of Boise, Sheryl Stetz, of Idaho Falls, Jolene Stetz, of Bozeman, Montana; her sons, Shane (Kelsey) Stetz of Idaho Falls, Shawn (Kristi) Stetz, of Idaho Falls, and Sheldon (Heather) Stetz of Avondale, Arizona; sister Marie (Rick) Birch of Chubbuck; brothers Ford Byrne of Plano, Idaho, J. Ray Byrne of Chubbuck, and 1 grandchild, Carson Schritter.
Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Ray and Verla Marie Byrne, her sister, Kay Quinton, and brother-in-law, Ray Quinton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer Ave, in Idaho Falls. Burial will follow at West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Terreton, Idaho.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Volunteer Services, Pancreatic Cancer Research, or Idaho Falls Habitat for Humanity.
