Brittany Anderson and Jacob King

Jacob always teases me that he’s had his eye on me since middle school, and I was just too busy to notice it! But in October 2013, Junior year of High School, there was no way he was letting me get away. We hung out and went on several dates, and then one night while we were outside looking at the stars (I know, he is very romantic!) he asked me to be his “official” girlfriend. Then we were inseparable. We did everything together and spent all of our spare time together through Junior and Senior year. All of his hockey games and camping trips to just video gaming all day on the weekends. When Jacob joined the Navy, and left to bootcamp in August 2015, it was a very slow and hard time for both of us but it is true that distance makes the heart grow fonder! We became closer than ever while we were apart, talking in between his schooling, and mine. We saw each other two times in the 6 months he was away from home: when he graduated bootcamp in September and over Christmas when I went to visit him in A school. The next time we saw each other was when he was down on one knee (dressed in his dress blues) at the Zen Garden in Idaho Falls, asking me to marry him on February 27, 2016. And of course I said yes, because I will never be able to imagine a world without him, and I don’t want to. We are so lucky to have found each other and we are both so excited to spend our lives together!
