(CLEVELAND) — Amare Stoudemire will be back in action tonight for New York against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Stoudemire has missed 13 games with a bulging lower disk in his back. The Knicks have gone 9-4 without Stoudemire, thanks to the resurgence of Carmelo Anthony, who has put the team on his back.
“We just thought about when would be a good time to get a few games under my belt and we figured tonight would be a good start,” Stoudemire said, adding that he doesn’t feel any pain in his back. “We did a great job of just attacking the injury and making sure everything around the injury is secure.”
Even so, interim head coach Mike Woodson was unsure of the number of minutes he would let Stoudmire play.
The Knicks currently hold the No. 7 spot in the Eastern Conference.
