(NEW YORK) — Brad Keselowski is focused on winning another Sprint Cup championship in 2013. NASCAR’s season will get under way on Feb. 24 at the Daytona 500, but after winning last year’s championship, Keselowski is enjoying the perks of being champion.
“Inside the garage, that’s a big deal,” Keselowski told ESPN Radio on Wednesday, speaking on getting the No. 1 spot in the garage for the entire 2013 season. “You’re like the first to go through inspection; you’re the first that people see when they walk in. It’s one of those small ways that you get to celebrate winning a championship for a whole year.”
Keselowski said that he hasn’t stopped working since he won the Sprint Cup championship in November.
“If you expect to be the best, it should never end,” said Keselowski. “It should be a constant desire to self improve.”
Keselowski doesn’t believe any specific driver will be targeting him this season just becasue he is the defending champion.
“Racing’s different because there’s 43 teams on the track,” said Keselowski. “If there’s a team that’s focusing just on beating me, they’re going to get beat by other teams.”
