LEWISVILLE — Jefferson County Sheriff deputies and Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle accident just north of Lewisville early Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Police and emergency service personnel were dispatched to the scene on the 3000 block of East 650 North. at around 6 a.m.

On scene, there were two vehicles that had front end damage. A horse was seen in the west bound lane, and another horse on the side of the road. Both horses were still alive at the time.

The driver of the second vehicle, who did not want to be identified, tells EastIdahoNews.com that the two horses could be seen on the side of the road.

“At the last moment they ran out into the road, that guy hit one and I clocked the second one,” the man said.

The first horse struck went over the top of the first vehicle, causing serious damage to the horse and vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The second vehicle struck — a van — hit the horse head on. It suffered less damage than the first. The driver of the second vehicle also suffered minor injuries. No one was transported by ambulance.
