Chris Noth on “Sex and the City 3″ Rumors, His Mr. Big Character

Warner Bros. (New Line)(NEW YORK) -- Amid rumors of a third Sex and the City movie, actor Chris Noth, who played Mr. Big, recently discussed the topic with the Australian news website News.com.au and said he'll "believe it when they say ‘Action.'"Noth adds, "...Until then I don’t pay any attention. Sure, I’ve heard rumors, but they’ve been saying that s**t for 10 years."The 59-year-old actor also talked about Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, and cleared up a misconception about his character's money and power giving him the upper hand in the relationship, noting that "emotionally he was a wreck.""It was [Carrie] who tried to pretend he was something he wasn’t. He was always honest about himself -- he never cheated on her," Noth explains."The relationship just didn’t work, and he went on to get married while she went on to…how many boyfriends did she have? She was such a whore," Noth declares with a laugh."There’s a misconception that Carrie was a victim of him, and that’s not the case -- she was a strong, smart woman," Noth adds. When asked why he thinks the critical response to the second Sex and the City movie was mostly negative, Noth blamed poor timing."I think it was considered an indulgence and a distraction because it hit right when the recession happened," he tells the Australian website. "People were like, ‘Who gives a f**k about these broads going to Dubai when we can’t pay our mortgage?’""It was originally intended as a romp between these friends, but I think it was a mistake to leave New York City, because New York is an integral part of that show," he added.

Kesha ‘Had a Lot of Trepidation’ About Suing Producer Dr. Luke

Kesha ‘Had a Lot of Trepidation’ About Suing Producer Dr. Luke

Eric McCandless/ABC(NEW YORK) -- Singer Kesha had "a lot of trepidation" about suing her longtime producer, Dr. Luke, over allegations that he was sexually, verbally, emotionally and physically abusive toward her, her lawyer, Mark Geragos, told ABC News' Good Morning America Wednesday.Kesha filed her lawsuit Tuesday, and Dr. Luke -- whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald -- has filed his own lawsuit against the singer for alleged defamation and breach of contract.

Taking legal action was nerve-wracking for the singer, Geragos said. However, "she’s strong," Geragos told GMA. "When I talked with her yesterday, I thought she was enormously resilient about this. She’s in a good place."The singer, 27, sued Dr. Luke, claiming that his abuse was so severe that she "nearly lost her life." In the 27-page document, obtained by ABC News, she alleged that he gave her drugs and alcohol so that he could take advantage of her, and that he "cruelly and incessantly" berated her about her physical appearance. She claimed that the alleged verbal abuse contributed to the singer developing an eating disorder, for which she entered treatment earlier this year. Now, "she’s in a place where she’s strong enough that she can make it work. She can stand up to him," Geragos said. "I mean, this is a frightening thing to have to go through. The date rape. The years of mental and emotional abuse. Those are things that I think anybody, especially at her age when this started, would be devastated by."Gottwald's lawsuit denies claims made by Kesha and added that her mother "has made clear that extortion is the ultimate goal of this defamatory campaign."Gottwald's lawyer, Christine Lepera, told ABC News Tuesday that while she had yet to see Kesha's lawsuit, she believed it to be "nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts.""As set forth in the complaint that we have filed on behalf of Dr. Luke, Kesha and her mother are engaged in a campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements about Dr. Luke to third parties, including scurrilous and false statements of purported physical and mental abuse of Kesha," Lepera said. "The complaint explains that Kesha and her mother Pebe have wielded these defamatory statements in an attempt to extort Gottwald into releasing Kesha from her exclusive recording agreement with Dr. Luke."

Joe Giudice Accepts Plea Deal in Fraud and Forgery Case

Joe Giudice Accepts Plea Deal in Fraud and Forgery Case

iStock/Thinkstock(PATERSON, N.J.) -- After thinking things over, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice has accepted a plea deal in a fraud and forgery case, in which he has been accused of using his brother's marriage and birth certificates to obtain a driver's license in 2010.The plea deal, which will allow Giudice to forgo a trial, required him to plead guilty to possession of a fraudulent driver's license. He initially faced a more serious charge of willfully using the identification of another -- a second-degree offense that carried a maximum 10 years in prison. Under this deal, Giudice accepts an 18-month sentence that will run concurrently with his previously arranged federal prison sentence.Earlier Wednesday, Giudice, 42, told a Paterson, New Jersey, judge that he refused the deal, because it required him to admit guilt. However, he changed his mind after a judge asked him to think things through.Earlier this month, the reality TV star was sentenced to more than three years in a federal prison and ordered to pay part of $414,000 in restitution for federal crimes including hiding assets, submitting fake loan applications and failing to pay taxes. He and his wife, Teresa Giudice, who was ordered to spend 15 months in prison, will serve their time separately, which the court determined was in the best interest of their four children."I just want to apologize that I got you into this mess," he told his wife in a televised interview after his federal sentencing. "If I could take it all back, I would."

Report: Amanda Bynes Could Be Confined, Treated for a Year

Report: Amanda Bynes Could Be Confined, Treated for a Year

Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- TMZ reports that Amanda Bynes could be involuntarily confined for up to a year if her doctors successfully secure a so-called LPS hold on the troubled actress. The gossip site says her doctors are trying to get a judge to do just that, after Bynes began exhibiting troubling behavior following the recent expiration of the conservatorship secured by her parents.According to TMZ, the LPS hold could force the actress to confinement -- and to take psychiatric medication -- for up to a year. A similar, but shorter hold was placed on the actress more than a year ago, after she was caught sparking a fire in a driveway and accidentally dousing her dog with gasoline.Following a 72-hour psychiatric hold that began on Friday evening, Tamar Arminak, a lawyer for Bynes' family, confirmed to ABC News Monday that Bynes will remain hospitalized for another two weeks. The 28-year-old actress arrived at the Las Encinas Hospital for a three-day stay after arriving in Los Angeles from New York late last week, Arminak added.Bynes' parents first expressed concern on Friday, the same day their daughter went on a troublesome Twitter rant. "My clients are very concerned about their daughter," Arminak told ABC News in a statement. "Despite what is being reported, they are doing everything they can to help Amanda."Bynes spent the week in New York after flying in last week from California, where she was arrested for DUI on September 29, according to authorities. She is due in court on October 23 and is expected to enter a plea on the DUI.While under her parents' conservatorship, the actress reportedly entered treatment, which she left in December of 2013, and enrolled in a fashion school from which she reportedly parted ways amid reports of increasingly erratic behavior.  Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Director Addresses Stephen Collins’ Role in Film

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The director of a short film starring Stephen Collins has released a statement saying he made the project well before the child molestation allegations against the actor came to light.Collins plays a pedophile priest in Penance, which has recently played at various film festivals but which director Jeff Wolfe notes was made in 2013. In a statement to People magazine, Wolfe says, "When I cast Stephen Collins, I had no idea there might be a connection between his real life and the part I asked him to play."He adds, "I found the recent allegations particularly shocking, as my film is meant to speak to victims of abuse and the idea that the effects of abuse never really go away."Wolfe had also worked with Collins on the since-cancelled NBC show Revolution.

Police are investigating claims that Collins molested three girls years ago.

Bill Murray Vows He Won’t Catch Oscar ‘Virus’

Weinstein Company(NEW YORK) -- Bill Murray's performance in the upcoming movie St. Vincent is being called Oscar-worthy, but in a new interview with Variety, Murray reveals that unlike other awards-season hopefuls, he won't be campaigning for the coveted trophy.“I’ve never done that,” he tells the magazine. “I know that’s something Harvey [Weinstein, head of The Weinstein Company, the studio backing the film] does -- he forces you to do these things. I’m not that way. If you want an award so much, it’s like a virus. It’s an illness.”The 64-year-old actor, who earned an Academy Award nomination for Lost in Translation back in 2004, admits he convinced himself that he would win.  He didn't.

“Six months later, I realized I had taken the virus. I had been infected," he confesses.Murray notes that winning the Oscar has been a curse for some of his Hollywood peers. “People have this post-Oscar blowback,” he explains. “They start thinking, ‘I can’t do a movie unless it’s Oscar-worthy.’ It just seems people have difficulty making the right choices after that.”Weinstein tells Billboard he thinks it's too early to discuss St. Vincent’s Oscar odds, "until something happens, like a Golden Globe or a critic’s award."If that happens, Weinstein adds, Murray will "have to get a restraining order against us. We’ll disregard what he told us.”St. Vincent stars Murray as a crabby neighbor who develops an unlikely friendship with the son of a recent divorcee, played by Melissa McCarthy. Naomi Watts also stars.St. Vincent is now out in limited release. It opens nationwide Oct. 24.

Kesha Sues Producer Dr. Luke, Accuses Him of Abuse

Kesha Sues Producer Dr. Luke, Accuses Him of Abuse

ABC/Bob D'Amico(NEW YORK) -- Kesha's mother has already gone on record blaming Dr. Luke, the super-producer behind many of her biggest hits, for bullying her into an eating disorder.  Now, the singer herself has filed suit against Dr. Luke, accusing him of far more than that.

The lawsuit accuses the producer, born Lukasz Gottwald, of "sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally" abusing Kesha until "she nearly lost her life."Kesha's attorney says in a statement, "This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke.""The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain," the statement continues. "Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time.”When Kesha entered rehab for an eating disorder at the very start of 2014, her mother gave several interviews in which she blamed Dr. Luke, in part, for bullying her daughter such that her resulting poor self-image drove her to her eating disorder.  But in the lawsuit, she further claims he continually made sexual advances towards her, and plied her with drugs and alcohol so he could take advantage of her sexually.  For example, Kesha accuses Luke of forcing her to snort "an illegal drug" before boarding a plane, and says during the flight, he forced himself on her sexually. On another occasion, Kesha claims, Luke gave her the "date-rape" drug GHB, after which she says she woke up naked in his bed, "sore and sick," with no memory of how she had gotten there.Kesha also claims in her suit that Luke continually told her how worthless and inferior she was, and that she would be nothing without him.  Soon, she says, she began to believe him. He also allegedly insulted her physical appearance and constantly harangued her about losing weight, leading to the eating disorder. In addition, the singer claims that Luke told her that if she ever told anyone about his behavior, he would take away all her publishing and recording rights and destroy her career. He also, according to Kesha, threatened her family's physical safety. When Kesha finally sought help in early 2014 for bulimia nervosa, post-traumatic stress and depression, the complaint states, doctors "concluded that Luke has physically and psychologically damaged" her to such a point that continuing contact with him would be "life-threatening."However, Dr. Luke has now filed his own lawsuit against Kesha, claiming she's attempting to extort him.In a statement to ABC News, his lawyer says, "Kesha and her mother are engaged in a campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements about Dr. Luke to third parties, including scurrilous and false statements of purported physical and mental abuse of Kesha.  These are allegations that Kesha and [her mother] Pebe have themselves admitted are false."The statement continues, "The complaint explains that Kesha and her mother Pebe have wielded these defamatory statements in an attempt to extort [Luke] into releasing Kesha from her exclusive recording agreement with [him].""We understand that Kesha has filed a lawsuit of her own against Dr. Luke, though we have not yet seen it," concludes the statement. "Undoubtedly, Kesha’s lawsuit is nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts. We are confident that Dr. Luke will prevail in all matters, and that our client will be awarded substantial damages for this malicious conduct."
