“Fifty Shades of Grey” Drive-In Screening Sparks Controversy

“Fifty Shades of Grey” Drive-In Screening Sparks Controversy

Focus Features(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) -- The big-screen debut of Fifty Shades of Grey set box office records this weekend -- but if one California movie theater is the example, many more people may have seen the movie than actually paid for it.A Sacramento drive-in movie theater playing the film, based on the erotic novel by E.L. James, just happens to be right next to a local highway, meaning some drivers are seeing the movie, whether they want to or not.

"If you have kids and you're just driving by and there's traffic, they see that," Rikki Brown, a customer who paid to see the movie, told local ABC affiliate KXTV-TV.

The movie theater, West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive-In, is also playing more family-friendly fare like the new SpongeBob movie, Sponge Out of Water.“We brought kids to see the SpongeBob movie last night and were surprised/dismayed to find 50 Shades on the screen by the drive way entrance where we sat for at least fifteen windows yelling at the kids 'Don't look out that window!!'” one customer wrote on the theater’s Facebook page. “It was an ordeal.”Fifty Shades of Grey earned an estimated $81.7 million from Friday to Sunday, setting records for a Presidents' Day weekend and a Valentine's Day weekend. It was also the second-best debut ever for the month of February, trailing only The Passion of the Christ, which opened in 2004 with $83.9 million. The film follows the steamy romance between Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson, and 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.ABC News did not hear back from West Wind management.

Keira Knightley Shares the Worst Part of Her Oscars Nomination

Keira Knightley Shares the Worst Part of Her Oscars Nomination

Randy Holmes / ABC(NEW YORK) -- It's safe to assume that Keira Knightley is excited to be nominated for an Academy Award. However, she joked that her pregnancy is putting a damper on her ability to celebrate.

"I can't drink! I'm up for an Oscar and I can't drink at the Oscars!" she said on Tuesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "[My doctor] was like, 'Any questions?' and I was like, 'Yes! When can I drink, please?!' I just want a margarita."

Knightley is expecting her first child with her husband James Righton. The two wed in 2013.

Still, the actress said her husband has been doing his fair share of partying for her. "I'm eating for two and he's drinking for two. It's brilliant," she said. "He thinks that because I'm not drinking the free champagne, he has to. All of it."

The Oscar nominee said she doesn't know the gender of the baby, nor does she have a birth plan. "What is the plan, apart but to get it out?" she asked. "There isn't the option to keep it in!"

Knightley announced her pregnancy last month.

“Bachelor” Castoff Jade Roper ‘Pretty Surprised’ by Chris Soules

“Bachelor” Castoff Jade Roper ‘Pretty Surprised’ by Chris Soules

ABC/Craig Sjodin(NEW YORK) -- The latest woman to be denied a rose by “Bachelor” Chris Soules says she did not see the rejection coming."I was pretty surprised,” Jade Roper said Tuesday on ABC's Good Morning America. “I thought from my perspective that my hometown date went well and I was really sad. I didn’t expect it.”Just before her elimination, Roper brought Soules to Gering, Nebraska, to meet her family. Like Soules, Roper grew up on a farm and says she joined the reality TV show picturing herself raising children with Soules on his farm in Arlington, Iowa.“That’s something I’ve always wanted to have for my children because it’s very special in my childhood,” Roper said. “So, yeah, when I chose to go on the show I envisioned myself being there with him.”Roper’s hometown date with Soules took a turn when she revealed to him that she once posed for Playboy, even showing Soules the Playboy photos on a computer.Roper says that Soules specifically told her the revealing photos did not play a part in her elimination.“We had that conversation and I felt like he was being honest with me and when I didn’t get the rose he sat down with me and he made it very clear that that wasn’t the reason I went home so I’d like to believe it,” Roper said on GMA. “I don’t feel like there was anything else that went on that would have changed it.”Roper’s elimination on Monday night's episode means there are just three women left vying for Soules’s love: Becca, Whitney and Kaitlyn.“I would say Whitney would the right one for Chris,” Roper said. “I feel like she is there for the right reasons.”“The last couple of weeks we were roommates together and I grew really close with her,” she said of Whitney. “I really think she’s in it. Her heart is in it."

Kristen Bell Says Epidural Left Her Feeling ‘Like a Meth Addict’

ABC News(LOS ANGELES) -- The birth of Kristen Bell's second daughter, Delta, back in December brought with it a couple of new experiences for the House of Lies actress.During an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show on Monday, Bell, 34, noted that an unexpected C-section also meant having an epidural for the first time. “As someone who has never experimented with drugs, I really enjoyed it,” she joked.“While they were doing it, I was thinking, ‘What else could we get done down there?’…Anything to keep the epidural flowing,” she added.Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and Kristen found herself scratching her face "like a meth addict” when the medicine began to wear off.She went on to tell Ellen that a nurse gave her some Benadryl to help her sleep and ease the itching. The “cocktail,” according to Bell, had an interesting side effect.“Do you know what looks really good when you’re on that stuff?" said Kristen. "Handbags. Or throw pillows or rugs. I was just like, ‘Internet shopping, woo!’”“Thank God I didn’t remember my credit card number. So nothing bad happened," she joked, "but … honestly, a picture of a throw pillow was as mind-blowing as seeing The Matrix for the first time. That’s how I felt.”Bell also revealed to DeGeneres that she and her husband, Parenthood star Dax Shepard, are through having kids after welcoming Delta and her 22-month-old sister, Lincoln, declaring, “We don’t want to be outnumbered. We’re gonna cap it at two.”Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright © 2015, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.

‘Leaked’ Un-Retouched Photos of Cindy Crawford Draw Support Online

‘Leaked’ Un-Retouched Photos of Cindy Crawford Draw Support Online

Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- From the catwalk to the covers of countless magazines, Cindy Crawford has been an iconic supermodel for decades, but now she’s the topic of conversation for an un-retouched photo that showcases flaws. The un-retouched image came from a 2013 shoot for Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America for which Crawford, 48, appeared on the cover. The cover image showed Crawford from the chest up, and photos of her inside the spread showed her stomach covered. In the un-retouched photos, though, the lingerie-clad Crawford struck a provocative pose, and while her body appeared slim, her bared stomach was no longer taut and her thighs weren’t as toned as before. The image was going viral after British journalist Charlene White shared it on Twitter. “I thought I would tweet the picture because I found it incredibly empowering to see someone as beautiful and iconic as Cindy Crawford in her natural form,” White said.

Marie Claire wasn’t denying the authenticity of the un-retouched photos. In an online post, the magazine said the images reveal “a body that defies expectations -- it is real, it is honest, and it is gorgeous.” The magazine also wrote: “It appears that this unretouched version is a leak.” Crawford has acknowledged the changes her body has experienced over time. In 2012, the mother of two children told The Huffington Post’s Marlo Thomas that her body wasn’t the same as it was. “I’m happy with my body ... but it’s not my old body,” she said, adding: “I had both of my children at home, naturally. In some ways I appreciate my body more now because I know what it’s capable of.” Crawford hasn’t commented on the photo and didn’t reply to ABC News’ requests for comment. There was a flood of support for Crawford on Twitter. One woman tweeted: “Finally! Thank you!! Every woman needs to see.” Another wrote: “Turns out she has a real body, just like me. And you and you and you...”

Why Megan Bell Quit “The Bachelor”

Why Megan Bell Quit “The Bachelor”

ABC/Rick Rowell(NEW YORK) -- The 24-year-old makeup artist who turned The Bachelor Season 19 on its head by walking out on the current Bachelor, Chris Soules, said she just knew it was the right decision. “When you know, you know,” Megan Bell said Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America. Bell’s connection with Soules, 32, started strong as she was picked to go on his first one-on-one date. They flew in a helicopter over the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Over a picnic lunch, she discussed her father's death. The date ended with a rose and a kiss. As time went on, Bell said she felt her spark with Soules dimming. “Days went by and I was like, ‘I’m losing grip on it,’” Bell said of their first-date connection. “I saw the other relationships with the other girls progressing more, so and I was just like, ‘I trust Chris and this decision.’” “I am so surprised,” she said of the drama on the reality TV show. “I’m silly and happy and fun. I try to stay away from it but, you know.” Bell told Soules during one-on-one time that she would be leaving the show before he had a chance to give, or not give, her a rose. "That night, I knew I was going to be saying goodbye," Bell said. "Goodbyes are hard." When asked if she thought Soules knew she was going to leave, Bell replied, “I think so.” As the contestants vying for Soules’ love have dwindled down from 30 to just six, Bell said she has an idea about who Soules will end up choosing. “Becca, I think,” Bell said. “She’s beautiful, smart, sweet and right up Chris’s alley.”

“Saturday Night Live” Celebrates 40 Years

“Saturday Night Live” Celebrates 40 Years

Dana Edelson/NBC(NEW YORK) -- Eddie Murphy stood on the stage in which his fame was forged – back again after all these years away – and compared the feeling to high school. SNL 40 resembled a reunion in many ways: familiar faces, old laughs, reflections of those who passed away. Sunday’s special honored four decades of Saturday Night Live, and featured dozens of notable guests and moments: Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake performing a medley; Will Ferrell reprising his “Jeopardy!” hosting gig, much to the chagrin of Darrell Hammond’s Sean Connery; Dan Aykroyd’s magic “Bass-o-Matic” blender; Paul Simon and Paul McCartney’s spirited performances; Kanye West being Kanye West; a new installment of Wayne’s World on Cable 10, Aurora, Illinois’ community access channel; and if all of that wasn’t enough, Bradley Cooper as a SoCal pool boy, locking lips with 93-year-old Betty White. Chris Rock, himself a cast member from 1990 to 1993, introduced Murphy. “Every couple of years, the media tries to call some new comic the next Eddie Murphy,” Rock said. “You know, Martin Lawrence was the next Eddie Murphy. Chris Rock is the next Eddie Murphy. Kevin Hart’s the next Eddie Murphy. There is no next Eddie Murphy.” The crowd applauded Murphy’s return, and Murphy returned the clapping. He hadn’t been back to Studio 8H since hosting an episode in December 1984. “This show is such a big part of who I am, in my life, and I’m so happy to be back here, and it’s just a magical feeling. Actually feels like going back to my old high school,” Murphy said. Sunday’s Jeopardy! skit featured the usual elements – Connery bungling a category’s name to the host’s dismay, witty exchanges with clueless celebrities. Alec Baldwin played Tony Bennett, singing into his buzzer and compiling a score “so low, it can’t be represented by a real number.” Kate McKinnon appeared as Justin Bieber. “It’s like, there hasn’t been a lot up here, right (gesturing to his head), but there’s so much in here (hands over his heart) … I just wanna get it out girl,” McKinnon’s Bieber said. “You think that I, an adult man, am a girl?” responded Ferrell as Alex Trebek. “Yeah? Um, no … I don’t know,” “Bieber” responded, slipping his hoodie over his head. West performed his hit song “Jesus Walks” while lying on his back, staring upside-down at the audience. After singing a section of “Only One,” he was joined by a wig-wearing Sia and Vic Mensa for “Wolves,” with the performers on all fours. Bill Murray, one of the show’s early cast members, introduced a segment honoring show contributors who passed away, including standouts such as Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, John Belushi and Gilda Radner. Sarah Palin, a longtime target and participant in the show’s humor, joked about her political ambitions as Jerry Seinfeld fielded celebrity questions. “Jerry, how much do you think Lorne Michaels would pay me if I were to run in 2016?” Palin asked, referring to the show’s creator. “Run for president? Sarah, I don’t think there’s a number too big,” Seinfeld said. “Hypothetically then, what if I were to choose Donald Trump as a running mate?” “Sarah, you’re teasing us, that’s not nice.” Steve Martin delivered the show’s opening monologue, with help from celebrity friends Tom Hanks, Baldwin, Melissa McCarthy, Chris Rock, Peyton Manning, Miley Cyrus, Billy Crystal, Simon and McCartney. “Tonight is like an enormous high school reunion – a high school that is almost all white. And, you know, earlier tonight, when I was walking the red carpet I have at home, I was thinking, ‘How do you possibly, in just three-and-a-half hours, honor the hundreds of people who have passed through the portals of SNL? Here’s how – we leave them out,” he said. And then there was The Kiss, which occurred during the The Californians, a soap opera skit about travel-conscious socialites. Cooper appeared as “Craig” the pool boy, clad in jean shorts, a tank top and platinum blond hair. White played “Aunt Llana,” who survived a hot air balloon accident. As the pair kissed, the other performers, including Taylor Swift and Kerry Washington, huddled around a nearby mirror, watching on in amusement, gawking at how far the performers would take their act. The moment reflected the Not Ready for Prime-Time Players’ first 40 years – occasional shock, deep laughs, something to talk about, and lots of heart.
