Britney Spears Confirms She Has a ‘Special Someone’

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- Britney Spears has a new beau. The singer confirmed reports that she's in the early stages of a new relationship."Yes, there is a special someone," she told Extra. "It's very new."Spears, 32, has been linked to writer and producer Charlie Ebersol, the son of Saturday Night Live co-creator Dick Ebersol. E! News reported earlier this week that the new couple met through friends, but the singer declined to confirm that detail -- or anything else -- about her new romance.

This is the first public relationship Spears has had since she split from David Lucado several weeks ago."So I know you know my boyfriend cheated on me," she told the audience during her Las Vegas show in September. "But the best thing about being cheated on is I get to go on more first dates."

Springsteen Jams, Auctions Lasagna Dinners at His Home at Stand Up for Heroes Benefit

Mark Metcalfe/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Bruce Springsteen, Louis CK, Daily Show host Jon Stewart and other celebrities saluted the troops in New York City during Wednesday night's 8th annual Stand Up for Heroes benefit, spearheaded by ABC News journalist, and Iraq war casualty, Bob Woodruff. The collaboration between the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is dedicated to helping injured GIs and their families, and the New York Comedy Festival, was held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.Bruce went unplugged for a set that included "Born in the U.S.A," and also auctioned off a pair of packages that will give access to The Boss that would make any fan swoon. Two deep-pocketed donors snagged a pair of his guitars, an hour-long guitar lesson, a lasagna dinner at his house, and a "ride around the block" in the sidecar of his motorcycle."You can have a guitar lesson, or simply waste my time," quipped Springsteen, who played the riff to "Mystery Train" in the background on one of his trademark yellow Fender Telecasters as the high-dollar bids rolled in.Both packages sold for $300,000 each. The benefit -- which also took in money raised at 200 participating restaurants -- reportedly generated more than six million dollars for the cause.Nearly 100 injured service members and their caregivers were on hand in the front rows of the venue. The crowd reportedly rose to its feet at the sight of Marine Capt. Derek Herrera, who has been paralyzed from the chest down after being shot in Afghanistan in 2012, walking across the stage with the help of a specially designed exo-skeleton.  The night also featured a moment of silence for former participant Robin Williams, and unexpectedly, a rendition of "Chairman of the Board" Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" -- belted out by none other than Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey.

Channing Tatum Says He Experimented with Drugs During His Stripper Days

Channing Tatum Says He Experimented with Drugs During His Stripper Days

Claudette Barius/Warner Bros.(NEW YORK) — In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum says he experimented with drugs while working as a stripper in his younger days."I wouldn't say I was losing myself in drugs because I wasn't doing anything habitually," Tatum, whose experiences as a stripper served as the basis for his 2012 film Magic Mike, tells the publication. "Just experimenting. Experimenting, I would say. Never the big ones -- crack or heroin. I never OD'd or anything. Never."When asked if he'd used cocaine, Tatum answers, "Maybe a couple times, but that was later. Drinking was probably the biggest [thing]. I didn't look at drinking as a problem. It wasn't at that point, and I still don't think it's a problem. But at that time in my life, it was, 'Let's go out and have a great time.'"While Tatum recently described himself in a GQ interview as a "functioning alcoholic," he now says it was not intended to be a "factual" statement. He clarifies, "It was said in context with the glutton side of myself. I'm constantly a flip-and-flop of extremes. I take care of it, to an extent -- and then I kind of knock it all down and destroy the sand castle. All I meant was that I do things in extreme."Tatum shares a funny anecdote about a lap dance he once gave a woman. He remembers, "The lady goes, 'Oh my God! Look at you! You remind me of my nephew!' -- and then grabs me. It hit me like a hand grenade. It was like tick, tick, tick, boom: She's grabbing my butt and saying, 'You remind me of my nephew.'"Tatum also touched upon his marriage to Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan Tatum, with whom he has a 17-month-old daughter, Everly. Will they have another child in the near future? His response: "I don't think very, very soon, but it really depends if Jenna's show gets picked up for a third season. Then we would probably wait."The interview was conducted before it was announced earlier this week that Jenna's Lifetime series, Witches of East End, has been cancelled.Tatum says reports that the couple is headed for a divorce are "bulls***." He continues, "These people just [make it up]. Some of our family members don't see [it's not true], and they read a stupid thing and don't understand it's a tabloid."Tatum stars with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo in the drama Foxcatcher, which opens in limited release next week. A Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL, is due out in 2015.

Victoria Gotti Says Teresa Giudice ‘Is Not Stupid,’ Prison Will Be ‘a Test of the Wills’

Victoria Gotti Says Teresa Giudice ‘Is Not Stupid,’ Prison Will Be ‘a Test of the Wills’

Evan Agostini/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — In the wake of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice being sentenced to serve 15 months in federal prison, her friend Victoria Gotti tells ABC News Radio she's given the reality star advice only when she asks."When needed she does come to me and we talk about it, and I've been very clear with Teresa. I always tell Teresa family first. Worry about your marriage [and] your children," Gotti says. "If you want what's best for your children, concentrate on your marriage, concentrate on standing behind your husband [and] fixing things that you feel may not be always perfect, but working together."Gotti knows a thing or two about jail time as her father, the late John Gotti, was in-and-out of jail for most of her life due to his connection to the Gambino crime family. Also, her ex-husband Carmine Agnello, with whom she has three sons, also spent some time in jail.Gotti says imprisonment is "very trying, very taxing, very emotional. It's a test of the wills. It's finally going to be the test if whether or not you can hold together a family or not. If your whole life has been a charade, this is the test."Still, Gotti feels her friend Giudice can make it. "She's not stupid. She's pretty smart. And you know what the old saying is, 'You have to be pretty, pretty sharp to play that stupid.' But she's not. She's a good person and I get along with her. We've gotten closer over the years," she explains. In March, the Giudices pled guilty to 41 counts of fraud. On Jan. 5, 2015, Teresa will begin her sentence at the Danbury, Connecticut, prison camp that served as the inspiration for the Netflix show Orange Is the New Black. Once she has served her time, her husband Joe will begin his 41-month sentence. They have four children together.Gotti will return to reality TV on Nov. 10 thanks to an A&E special Growing Up Gotti: 10 Years Later. It airs 9 p.m. Eastern.Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio

Lisa Kudrow Explains Why Actors Should Push for Big Salaries

Lou Rocco/ABC(NEW YORK) -- In 1996, the cast of Friends joined together to demand $100,000 per episode each. They got it and, according to Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe in the series, they were justified in asking for it."The rationale is that the show is actually generating an enormous amount of money, and that...it's affordable to whichever entity has to pay it," she told the Huffington Post. "For any actor, you should try to get as much as you can because you never know when you're time's up."Kudrow, 51, whose show The Comeback is returning to HBO on Nov. 9, explained that actors are "basically freelance" even if they're contract. And, in many cases, their participation in the show is a key component in the series' success."I don't think it's out of line to ask that, you know, 'Make me a partner in this endeavor in some way,'" she said.

Wayne Brady Discusses Debilitating Depression

Wayne Brady Discusses Debilitating Depression

Sonja Flemming/CBS(LOS ANGELES) -- Wayne Brady is opening up about the pain behind his smile. The comedian revealed in an Entertainment Tonight interview, scheduled to air Monday night, that he's battled depression.

“People are like, ‘Wayne Brady’s always happy!’” he quipped. “No I’m not. Because I’m human.”

The Let's Make a Deal host said his depression often made it feel like he was a bad person. It even ruined many of his relationships, including his marriage to his ex-wife, Mandie Taketa.

“You don’t want to move, you can’t move in the darkness,” he explained of how he felt when dealing with the mental illness. “You’re like ‘I am just going to sit right here and want to wallow in this. As much as it hurts, I am going to sit right here because this is what I deserve. This is what I deserve, so I am going to sit here because I am that horrible of a person.'"

Brady said he knew he had to get help when he turned 42 last June. “I was there by myself, in my bedroom and I had a complete breakdown…Just go ahead and imagine for yourself a brother in his underwear, in his room, you got snot…and that birthday was the beginning of, ‘OK, I’ve got to make a change!’”

Still, Brady credits his ex-wife for helping him get back on track. “It took me a while to get my stuff together to go, ‘You know what? If you’re not happy, you have to do something it,’” Brady said. “Just to admit that you are feeling this way is a huge step. To claim that, to say, ‘Why do I feel dark? Why do I feel unhappy? Let me do something about this.’”

Movie Review: “Interstellar” (Rated PG-13)

Movie Review: “Interstellar” (Rated PG-13)

"Interstellar" - Paramount(NEW YORK) — Christopher and Jonathan Nolan’s Interstellar may not be the space movie you asked for, but it’s the space movie you need. Wow. Just, wow. While I’ve been a bit down on these almost weekly post-apocalyptic movie tales, Interstellar is more about preventing an apocalypse, through technology and space exploration, than it is about life after the very bad humans destroy a relatively comfortable existence on Earth. In this case, atmospheric conditions have rendered our soil mostly useless. The only thing we can grow is corn. Oxygen is dwindling, the world’s livestock is gone and deadly sandstorms are a common occurrence. Matthew McConaughey is a former astronaut and engineer named Cooper, haunted by dreams of a crash that seemingly ended his career, and maybe to a larger extent, hope for mankind. He’s a widower, a single father of two: a feisty tween named Murph (Mackenzie Foy) and 16-year-old Tom (Timothee Chalamet). Cooper raises the kids with help from his father-in-law, Donald (John Lithgow), a guy who does his best to keep Coop honest while helping his grandkids survive a dying world. The heart of this story, though, is Coop’s relationship with Murph. A series of events leads the pair to discover NASA, which has officially been defunct for years, now exists underground and has been feverishly working on an ambitious plan to save humanity. The project is being led by Professor Brand (Michael Caine), Coop’s genius mentor.  A wormhole’s been discovered, a bridge from our galaxy to the rest of the cosmos, and Brand and his colleagues believe humanity’s only hope is for Coop to pilot a spacecraft through it, and search for a new home. The consequences of this desperate mission are obvious not just for humanity, but for Coop.  He’s risking not only his life, but never again seeing his children, who have already lost one parent.  Even if he survives, because of the theory of relativity, time will pass more slowly for Coop and his crew, meaning he could return to find his children are old enough to be his parents.

But if Coop didn’t go, we wouldn’t have a movie. He leaves Tom and Murph in a heartbreaking farewell, and we’re off into space. Coop is joined by Professor Brand’s daughter, Amelia (Anne Hathaway), Doyle (Wes Bentley), Romilly (David Gyasi), and a nifty robot named TARS that reminded me of an old-school  Kodak Instamatic camera if you made it man-sized and stood it on its end. What happens next is a stunning, nail-biting journey into space offered by two of our most imaginative filmmakers, exploring humanity’s relationship with and understanding of not just the universe, but ourselves.  You can also distill this film into a story about the relationship between a father and a daughter, but it is clearly so much more than that. A bit Stanley Kubrick, a bit Terrence Malick and all Christopher and Jonathan Nolan -- Chris the writer/director and Jonathan the co-writer -- the brothers deliver an utterly exquisite and completely immersive aural, visual and emotional sci-fi classic.  Even so, with its complex physics, copious exposition and, at times, lack of action, Interstellar may not be for everyone. To those people I say don’t worry: there’s another Transformers movie due out in 2016. Enjoy. Five out of five stars.
