Simpson Calls for $4 Trillion in Cuts

(BOISE) – Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson is calling for a $4 trillion cut to the nation’s deficit. Simpson is part of a bipartisan effort to cut spending, which includes 60 Democrats and 40 Republicans. Simpson says the nation has reached its limit, and that all efforts to generate revenue should be in force. For Simpson, that includes raising taxes, but the Blackfoot Republican says he prefers removing some tax exemptions to help lower the deficit.
