(PAVILLION, Wyo.) – Teachers and students throughout western Wyoming are mourning the loss of an elementary school student killed earlier this week. 11-year-old Makayla Strahle of Crowheart was hit by a pickup Tuesday evening after leaving her school bus. Police say there was a heavy fog in the area and the driver of the pickup failed to stop for the flashing signals on the bus while the girl was crossing the road. Charges against the driver are pending.
