Ochocinco Restructures Contract with Patriots
Published at(NEW YORK) — New England Patriots wide receiver Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson has agreed to restructure his contract and drop his base salary from $3 million to $1 million this season, according to a league source of ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
The move comes on the heels of the Patriots bringing in receivers Brandon Lloyd, Donte Stallworth and Anthony Gonzalez. They also resigned Deion Branch and used the frachise tag on Wes Welker.
The 34-year-old Ochocinco, had a career low of 15 catches for 276 yards for New England last season.
