NBC(NEW YORK) — A kids version of The Voice is reportedly being developed by NBC.

The New York Post reports casting calls have already been announced in New York, Dallas and Los Angeles to recruit 8-to-14-year-old singers for the pint-sized version.

“We are hoping [to begin production] by the end of the year,” a source close to the show told the Post.

A bilingual version of the singing competition is also set to premiere on Telemundo, the NBC-owned Spanish language network, in May.

This isn’t the first time a singing competition has been geared towards kids.  A children’s version of The Voice has already been tried overseas in Germany, Finland and Holland.  American Juniors, a kids version of American Idol, premiered in 2003, but was canceled after one season as a result of low ratings.
