Large Suicide Attack Kills Dozens in Afghanistan
Published at(KABUL, Afghanistan) — A large suicide attack in eastern Afghanistan Tuesday morning left at least 41 people dead, including six children and two policemen.
Sixty-seven others were also wounded when a suicide bomber blew up his vehicle loaded with explosives in a busy marketplace in the province of Paktika.
Tuesday’s attack was one of the biggest ones on Afghan civilians in years.
According to the United Nations, attacks on civilians have spiked this year — up 25 percent — with nearly 5,000 civilians killed or wounded since the beginning of the year.
