The game was out of reach by the end of the first quarter, when the Falcons scored 21 points, 14 of them on Matt Ryan touchdown passes.

Ryan finished the game completing 21 of 24 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns.

Falcons receiver Devin Hester scored twice, the second time on a 62-yard punt return that moved him ahead of Deion Sanders for the most return touchdowns in NFL history.

“It’s tough to break the record of the guy who is my No. 1 mentor,” Hester said. “I’m kind of emotional right now.”

Tampa Bay (0-3) turned the ball over five times and mustered only 217 yards of offense in the loss.

Julio Jones caught nine passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns for Atlanta, which improves its record to 2-1.
