Prostitution Trial Set for Polygamous Trust Boss
Published atSALT LAKE CITY (AP) – A man in charge of a state-run polygamous property trust is scheduled to stand trial on charges that he patronized a prostitute.
Accountant Bruce Wisan is pleading not guilty. Prosecutors say he was found with a woman in a motel last March and told police he met the 26-year-old on the Internet but denied sexual contact.
A state court judge hasn’t decided whether the Wisan should be removed from his role in charge of the approximately $100 million trust once controlled by Warren Jeffs. The 68-year-old retired from his firm after the charge was filed in August and his business partner has been nominated to replace him at the trust.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports a justice court judge set a trial date for Dec. 4.
