FSU Lands Top 2016 Quarterback Recruit Malik Henry
Published at(NEW YORK) — As the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles have yet to lose a game since the 2012 season, they’ve locked up a valuable piece for their future. Top 2016 quarterback recruit Malik Henry announced his commitment to the Seminoles on ESPNU’s College Football Daily on Thursday.
Henry fielded scholarship offers from such schools as Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas and USC. In the end, Henry felt Florida State was the best fit.
“I felt comfortable around coach Jimbo Fisher. I think he’s a great quarterback coach, he knows his stuff and their offense is explosive,” Henry said. “I think I can see myself in their offense.”
“It was a tough decision, but I finally realized it was Florida State a week or two ago, after talking to Coach Fisher and reminiscing about my trip there,” Henry told ESPN.com. “I felt comfortable at Florida State and around Tallahassee.”
Just like current Seminoles starting quarterback Jameis Winston, Henry also plans on pursuing baseball at Florida State.
