Police: Threats Against Meridian School a Joke

MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) – Police in southwestern Idaho say social networking posts on Sunday about “shooting up” a high school on Monday is a joke and there’s no threat.
But police in Meridian say the identity of the two students involved in the posting on Twitter that included an Internet photo of a handgun in a backpack is being forwarded to prosecuting attorneys.
Police say the students said the tweets concerning Mountain View High School were a joke.
School officials say the students could face disciplinary measures, including being suspended or expelled.
