“Attribution to North Korea is based on intelligence from the FBI, the U.S. intelligence community, DHS, foreign partners and the private sector,” the FBI said in a statement on Tuesday. “There is no credible information to indicate that any other individual is responsible for this cyber incident.”

The FBI says that it “is committed to identifying and pursuing those responsible for this act and bringing them to justice.”

The FBI confirmed that it met with representatives from cyber security firm Norse, which claims that the hack was perpetrated by at least one former employee and not North Korea. Still, the FBI says that the meeting was a function of meeting with a group that claimed to have pertinent information, not necessarily of a belief in Norse’s claim.

Also on Tuesday, the FBI released a YouTube video in which they highlight their increased recruiting of cyber experts. That decision was made, the FBI says, because “cyber…permeates every aspect of what we do.”
