Hasbro Receives Criticism for Play-Doh Tool
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Hasbro is under fire this week after upset parents have said an “extruder tool” included in one of the Play-Doh playsets looks awfully inappropriate.
The company included the two-piece “extruder tool” in its Cake Mountain playset. The tool was apparently supposed to be used to squeeze icing onto Play-Doh cakes. Parents now are saying that the tool looks an awful lot like male genitals.
“We have heard some consumer feedback about the extruder tool in the Play-Doh Cake Mountain playset,” the company posted to its Facebook page on Tuesday. They also said that they are “in the process of updating all future Play-Doh products with a different tool.”
The company is offering a replacement tool for anyone who wants one, available by contacting Hasbro’s Customer Service Department at 1-800-327-8264.
