Police Investigating After Nine Found Dead at Three Edmonton Locations
Published at(EDMONTON, Alberta) — Police are investigating the deaths of nine people in three locations between Monday and Tuesday.
According to police, a woman in her 30s was found dead at a residence on Monday evening. Police found the body while responding to a report that a man entered the residence, fired a weapon and fled the scene. Police were called later Monday night to “check” on a possibly suicidal man at a second location.
Early Tuesday morning, police said they gained entry to the second home, where they found three female adult bodies, two male adult bodies and two children all dead.
Later Tuesday morning, the presumed assailant — the possibly suicidal man — was found dead at a restaurant.
Police Chief Rod Knecht said that investigators “have established associations and linkages” between the incidents, though not all victims have been identified. Police do not believe the killings are random acts, but rather “tragic instances of domestic violence.”
