Brushfires Threaten Towns in Southern Australia
Published at(ADELAIDE HILLS) — Raging brushfires are threatening more than a dozen towns in southern Australia, while dry conditions cause the flames to spread quicker.
The blaze threatens 21 towns about 25 miles northeast of Adelaide. Officials say that dry ground, high temperatures and strong winds are making the fires unpredictable.
Thousands have been evacuated from their homes, while more than 2,000 firefighters battle the flames.
