With less than four minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Houston trailed Pitt 34-13 until quarterback Greg Ward Jr. led a furious comeback.

“We’ve been through a lot of games where we was coming from behind and we got close to coming back and winning the game, but we just couldn’t finish it,” wide receiver Deontay Greenberry said. “It’s all about just never quitting.”

Ward threw all three of his touchdowns in the game in final minutes of the game, including the go-ahead score on a 25-yard throw to Deontay Greenberry with :59 seconds left on the clock.

Still down 34-33, interim head coach David Gibbs decided to go for two and the risk paid off as Ward once again found Greenberry to take a 35-34 lead.

“We decided to go for two at the end because we had the momentum,” Gibbs said.

Houston finishes their season at 8-5 while Pittsburgh will end their season at 6-7.
