One Dead, Six Injured at New Year’s Party in Canada

PhenomArtlover/iStock/Thinkstock(CALGARY, Alberta) — Authorities in Canada are investigating a deadly New Year’s Eve shooting that left one person dead, and six others wounded.
Calgary Police say a flood of 911 calls came in around 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Officers arriving at the scene found five people with gunshot wounds in and around the home. Two more victims showed up at local hospitals.
The man who died — Abdullahi Ahmed — was a member of the city’s Somali community.
The other six are in stable condition, with injuries ranging from serious to minor.
Investigators have questioned more than dozen partygoers, but they’d like to talk to dozens more, who left before police arrived.
So far, they have no description of the shooter or shooters, and no arrests have been made.
