The woman, called “Toronto Jane,” posted tweets in support of ISIS from Toronto until November 2014.

Then in December, she suddenly reappeared in Raqqa, Syria an ISIS stronghold.

Researchers have since been tracking GPS data embedded in her tweets.

“She clearly is affiliating with ISIS,” said Jeff Weyers, who works for a private Canadian intelligence research group. “She clearly has bought into the propaganda.”

The woman has sent messages from Kobani, Syria and Aleppo, Iraq, in addition to other places where ISIS fighters are engaged in fierce battles.

“All we can really do is make an inference, but it would appear that she is gathering intelligence for ISIS and possibly, getting in there because she is in fact, a female,” said Weyers.

The Canadian government has refused to confirm or deny whether they are investigating the woman’s actions.
