New Jersey Poll Doesn’t Bode Well for Christie

ABC/ LOU ROCCO(NEW YORK) — New Jersey Governor Chris Christie enjoys no favorite son advantage with voters in the Garden State as he potentially gears up for the 2016 presidential race.
NJ.com reports that Christie is essentially neck-and-neck with Florida Governor Jeb Bush when New Jersey voters were asked in a Monmouth University poll who they prefer as the GOP presidential nominee next year.
Four in 10 voters picked Christie while Bush was the favorite among 36 percent of New Jerseyans in the survey of 800 adults conducted earlier this week.
Christie does enjoy a slight advantage over his possible GOP rival when people were asked who would make a better president, 46 percent to 37 percent, respectively.
What might be hurting Christie the most among New Jersey voters is his constant traveling outside the state to both support other Republicans as well as burnishing his credentials for higher office.
Forty-seven percent of voters approve of his jaunts while 46 percent say they disapprove.
