“New York Times” Media Columnist David Carr Dies at 58
Published at(NEW YORK) — David Carr, a media columnist for The New York Times, died Thursday. He was 58 years old.
The New York Times said that Carr died at the office. He joined the newspaper in 2002, with columns focusing on media issues appearing in the Times‘ Monday business section.
Carr previously wrote for The Atlantic Monthly and New York Magazine, as well as other publications.
Carr also published a book, The Night of the Gun, a memoir on his past drug addiction.
Carr is survived by his wife, Jill Rooney Carr, their daughter, Maddie, and his two twin daughters, Erin and Meagan.
