Twenty-Two Marines Injured in Training Accident
Published at(TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif.) — Twenty-two Marines were injured on Thursday in a training mishap aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.
According to the Marine Corps, Marines and sailors of the 2nd Batallion, 3rd Marine Regiment were taking part in training when a fire extinguisher system located within their Assault Amphibious Vehicle discharged inadvertently. Officials noted that there was no explosion.
An unspecified number of Marines required medical treatment and were taken to local medical facilities. Those individuals are in stable condition, according to the Marine Corps.
